After a year of anticipation, game enthusiasts can finally rejoice as Slitherine Software, the renowned game publisher, breaks its silence and unveils the imminent arrival of its highly anticipated tactical strategy game.

Stargate: Timekeepers, a captivating real-time tactics game, is in its final stages of development and is set to make its global debut this July, much to the delight of eager fans who have eagerly awaited any updates on the project.


The exciting news was recently disclosed during Slitherine Software's weekly livestream event, aptly named "It's Tea Time with Slitherine," and was subsequently reported by the esteemed French fan site Stargate-Fusion.com.

During the livestream, Marco Minoli, Slitherine's marketing director, responded to a player's inquiry, stating, "We plan to release the game in July." He also mentioned that the beta testing phase is expected to commence either in late May or early June.

Minoli further elaborated on the unique nature of this beta test, highlighting that Timekeepers is a story-driven game that requires meticulous testing of missions and progression. As a result, the beta phase will be shorter but more comprehensive, as it aims to strike a balance and ensure a seamless gaming experience upon its official launch.


Representatives from both Slitherine and MGM confirmed that Stargate: Timekeepers is still under development and assured fans that more information will be unveiled in the upcoming weeks as the release date draws nearer. The game itself is being skillfully crafted by Poland's CreativeForge Games.

Since May 2022, when the senior producer Neil McKenna last spoke about the game's progress, Slitherine had maintained silence on the subject. However, this recent announcement has ignited the excitement of Stargate fans once again.

Stargate: Timekeepers is a top-down tactical strategy game that picks up the story after the epic battle with Anubis' forces over Antarctica, which occurred during the seventh season of Stargate SG-1. Players will embark on a thrilling adventure, taking control of a new team of heroes led by the esteemed Commander Eva McCain of the S.G.C. The game will incorporate familiar races, weapons, and technology from the beloved television series.

The narrative of Timekeepers will span across 14 missions, each offering approximately an hour of gameplay. Players will encounter the formidable Hak'tyl tribe of female Jaffa warriors and witness their valiant struggle against the tyrannical Goa'uld Moloc.

As players, it will be our responsibility to guide them through this perilous predicament, making crucial choices along the way. The game offers multiple potential outcomes, allowing players to reshape the destiny of their heroes by utilizing otherworldly technology and even traveling back in time to replay missions.


Excitement continues to build as Stargate: Timekeepers is now available for wishlist on popular platforms such as Steam and GOG. The game's current specifications indicate a 45 GB installation size, ensuring a visually immersive experience.

Additionally, Slitherine has embraced the potential of cloud gaming by enlisting Timekeepers for the GeForce NOW streaming service. While the game's compatibility on the platform is still pending confirmation from NVIDIA, the possibility of enjoying the game through cloud streaming adds to the anticipation surrounding its release.
